It’s allowed to take up to two half points byes in round 1 to 5. It’s not possible in round 6 or 7.
Tournament format
7 rounds FIDE Dutch swiss in 3 playing groups.

Playing groups
There are 3 playing groups:
- Group A: FIDE rated 1800 and above
- Group B: FIDE rated 1600-1799
- Group C: FIDE rated below 1600 and unrated
Groups may be merged in case of few participants.
Time Control and default time
The time control is 90 minutes for the entire game and 30 seconds increment from move 1.
The default time is 30 minutes. That means if you show up later than 30 minutes after the round is scheduled to start, you lose the game.
All games will be broadcast live with the Clono Electronic Score Sheet. Live streaming will be in collaboration with the newspaper Altaposten.
Playing venue
The tournament will be played at the Arctic University: UiT Campus Alta, in Alta Kultursal, with great space and air throughout the tournament.
Start fee
The start fee is:
900 NOK for adults
600 NOK for juniors (born 2006 or later)
GM, WGM, IM and WIM free
The start fee is to be paid within February 20th.

Additional information
We offer a cell phone hotel if you bring your cellphone to the playing venue.
There will be a café at the playing venue where you can buy coffe, tea, soft drinks, food and some snacks.
All games will be live broadcast.
